Vejer seems a white island fused with the blue of
the sky and of the water. It is one of the most beautiful
towns in Spain, worthy of a visit for preserving intact
the purest Arab Andalusia architectural style. Such
is its appeal that it has been declared a site of
joint historic and artistic interest. In June the
Candelas de San Juan fiesta is held, ending with the
fiery bull a pyrotechnic display that travels over
several streets of the city, emitting streaks of fire,
firecrackers…during August the fiestas are held
in honour of the Virgin of the Olive. For this purpose
for more than 25 years the flamenco Night has taken
place, and has been designated of National Tourist
interest in Andalusia. It can be equally magical to
be one of the diners at the medieval dinner that is
given in summer in the salted, which is decorated
for the occasion.
