Natural Place of Odiel's marshes
The marshes cover an area of 7,150 ha. around the River Odiel estuary,
and can be reached from Huelva, Gibraleón, Aljaraque o Punta Umbría.
The marshes are tide-nased, with water level rising and falling with the
level of tides, and provide a home than 200 species of birds.
It is divided between two large areas: las Reservas del Burro and la Isla
de Enmedio, which thanks to their fine state of conservation are home
to important colonies of spoonbills, herons and other birds.
The visit can be made in large rowing boats or small launches and makes
for an unforgettable experience.
