Time: Two hours and thirty minutes.
From Alájar town to Castaño del Robledo town.
In the outskirst of the town towards Santa Ana on the other
side of the road, there is an old track to Portugal, asphalted
at first, but farther on it is an old Roman path well-preserved
only in some stretches.
Very near the town there is the incredible Calabacino´s
village, inhabited by artists and craft-workers. There we
can also taste the rich water of its fountain. Walking on
round the hermitage we shall arrive to a hill, along a new
track wich makes its way among chestnut trees.
From this point, the Castaño´s peak can be
seen, sorrounded by a thick forest of oak trees.
After a soft descent, we shall arrive at the Castaño
along one of its lanes.
